QR Code Generator
Generate QR codes for URLs, plain text, Wi-Fi credentials or emails. Customize colors and download as PNG or SVG.
Built for fast, private, no-nonsense work.
QR Code Generator is part of PixHaul — a small set of browser-based tools we built because most of the “free online” alternatives are slow, ad-laden, and upload your files before they’ll process them. PixHaul does none of that.
QR Code Generator in four steps.
- 1
Pick what to encode
Tap one of the four modes at the top — URL, text, Wi-Fi or email — and fill in the relevant fields.
- 2
Style the QR
Choose foreground and background colors. Add a margin for breathing room. Higher error correction is safer when the QR may be partly obscured.
- 3
Preview
The QR redraws live as you type. Scan it with your phone right from the screen to confirm it works.
- 4
Download
PNG for digital use. SVG for print, since it scales to any size without losing quality.
Questions, asked & answered.
Are the QR codes free to use commercially?
Yes. QR is an open standard (not trademarked for use), and PixHaul adds no licensing on the codes you generate. Use them on packaging, print ads, business cards — anywhere.
Do the QR codes expire?
No. PixHaul makes static QR codes — the destination is encoded directly inside the pattern, so they work forever and don’t depend on any service staying online.
Can I track scans?
Static QR codes can’t be tracked because there’s no redirect step. If you need scan analytics, point the QR at a tracked short-link URL (you’d need a separate service for that).
What’s the difference between PNG and SVG?
PNG is a raster image — pick the resolution and you’re stuck with it. SVG is vector — it scales to any size with no pixelation, perfect for printing, business cards, or large signage.
What is the error correction setting?
QR codes can survive partial damage thanks to built-in redundancy. L is ~7 % recoverable, M ~15 %, Q ~25 %, H ~30 %. Higher levels make the QR denser but more resilient.
Why is the Wi-Fi QR code not connecting on iPhone?
Make sure you picked the correct encryption type (WPA, WEP, or Open) and that the SSID matches exactly, including case. Hidden networks need the Hidden box checked.
Is the QR generated on a server?
No — it’s generated in your browser by the open-source qrcode library, so the URL, text or Wi-Fi password you encode never leaves your device.
